McALLEN, TEXAS (OCT. 18,2019) - IBC Bank-McAllen has been named the October Business of the Month by the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce. Business of the Month is a recognition that is awarded by the Chamber Ambassador Committee to businesses for their outstanding service, commitment and contribution to the community.

The bank is involved in helping the community with a variety of initiatives across the entire Rio Grande Valley. Each year the bank awards selected high school students with $1,000 as part of their A.R. Sanchez Scholarship program. The need-based scholarships are awarded to students who have demonstrated a commitment to IBC's "Do More" philosophy.

 

In addition, IBC Bank-McAllen set out to help its schools and communities with a program that not only assists schools in addressing attendance issues, but also provides students with real-life skills.

 

The Minitropolis® program concept was created in 1996 as a tool to help teachers impart the importance and significance of financial literacy at a young age. This year, the bank plans to launch Minitropolis® in five new schools for a total of 17 participating campuses.
